MyArtbox
The past year has been challenging for all of us and we are now faced with rebuilding our lives, our families, our work & most importantly ourselves. Finding a way to process all that has happened can seem daunting so the MyArtbox project has been launched by Wendy Livingston to offer help and support. Wendy is both therapist at the Lismore Clinic, practising artist, and co creator of Kitchen Table Art, a creative women’s group in Lismore.
MyArtbox is a monthly subscription box of vibrant art materials, with fun and thoughtful ideas to inspire play and imagination. You definitely do not have to be an artist, this is not an art class, more a process of creative mark making, and being free to express oneself. You will not be asked to share your work & your details are confidential. There will be two supporting & individual Zoom/ WhatsApp sessions per month.
When we are creative we access our emotions; our marks and images give our journey meaning; we discover who we are. The therapeutic value of art making is recognised as a way to express ourselves without words, to make representations of the fears, the hurts and the joys without explanation or justification. When we are creative, we thrive, we feel less anxious; establishing a connection to the natural environment, giving us a sense of ease, we become focused and grounded . Our mental health is nourished, our wellbeing nurtured.
