Lismore Clinic - Front

Our History

The Lismore Clinic, originally located in Ferry Lane and known as Lismore Clinic of Herbal Medicine, was established by Medical Herbalist, Marie Reilly, in 2004. The became a very popular choice for people looking for a more natural yet effective approach to health care, and individuals have travelled from as far away as Counties Dublin, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Tipperary, Limerick and Cork to the clinic in Lismore.

In 2006, the clinic moved to new premises in Ballyrafter, just 5 minutes walk from Lismore. In addition to Herbal Medicine and Nutrition, the new clinic also provides a range of alternative and complementary medicine therapies including McTimony Chiropractic, Massage, Physical Therapy, Chiropody, Acupuncture, Reflexology, Art Therapy, Psychotherapy and Counselling.

These therapies are all thoroughly researched, effective, and well established. At the same time they are all natural and safe forms of treatment, which encourage the healing processes within the body and promote good health and well-being. The treatments complement each other and can be used alone or in combination for the benefit of an extremely wide variety of health problems.

Integrated medicine, which combines conventional medicine with various other approaches to health care, is becoming increasingly popular. It is estimated that at least 40% of the population use one or more forms of complementary healthcare, and most people combine these with conventional medicine, rather than choosing one or the other exclusively. All therapists at the Lismore Clinic are happy to work in conjunction with the individual’s GP or other healthcare practitioners where necessary.

In order to provide the highest standards of healthcare, all of the practitioners at the Lismore Clinic are fully trained and highly experienced in their particular form of treatment. Each practitioner is also insured, and registered with an appropriate professional body.
